For my Religious Studies 3831 course in Disney and Religion, I have chosen the topic of Death and Disney. I will be discussing the influence of Slavic Paganism and Chrsitianity in two Disney films. The films are Snow White (1937) and Fantasia (1940).  I chose these two religions because in the early disney films we can see the influence of Walt Disney's own christian beliefs.  I chose Slavic Paganism because I'm studying Folklore and Russian and through this course I could see these influences in Disney films, especially in early the  Disney films. The subject of Death was especially important because Death is extremely important in everyday life. It is as much a part of life as birth, adulthood and marriage. In most religions there is a strong element and emphasis on Death as part of life. Death in relation to these two religions are well represented, in early films Walt Disney had a large pre-occupation with Death and many of the views on Death and afterlife can be seen in the films.
