Snow White Christianity and resurrection:

In these two scenes from Snow White they both represent the christian view point of death in Disney films.
The first scene is When Snow White has eaten the poisoned apple. She was tempted by an evil force and fell, literally. This is the same story seen in the many versions of the bible where Adam and Eve were in the garden of eden and were tempted by the forbidden fruit. Eve ate the apple and they were banished out of eden. They were in both cases led by an evil force. In Snow White we continue to the end of this scene where the dwarves vigilently lay her on her bed with candles to remember her. They couldn't bury her so they laid her in a glass coffin in the middle of the forest where she'll lay forever. Winter has come to symbolize death and it's then spring when the second scene begins and the prince enters.

In this second scene the prince had come to see Snow White and he lifts off the glass coffin to kiss her. His kiss breaks the spell and she has been given life again. This scene is closely related to the story of Jesus' resurrection. God resurrected Jesus but here the power of love in the form of a kiss has brought her back. Also Snow White can be seen as a martyr as she is innocent, she spreads good mores and values to the dwarfs and died for being herself and overthrown by evil. She is then resurrected and saved. She and the prince live happily ever after, similar to the christian stories.
